PP Coated Steel Transition Flanges

Steel flanges and PE–steel and PE–brass adapters for connecting polyethylene pipe to other materials.

ABOUT THIS RANGE

Connecting PE pipe to steel, brass and flanges

Sooner or later a polyethylene line has to meet something that isn't polyethylene: a valve, a pump, a meter, an old steel main or a brass house connection. This range covers those joints.

For flanged joints, a PE flange adapter (stub end) is welded to the pipe and clamped with a backing flange. We make plain steel flanges (PN 16, Ø 20 to Ø 2500 mm), steel blind flanges, and steel flanges coated in polypropylene with 30 % glass fibre, which keeps soil and water away from the steel. Our flanges are certified by TSE to TS EN 1092-1.

For threaded and welded joints there are PE–brass (MS 58) adapters with a male or female thread, PE–steel transition pieces with a male thread, injection moulded PE male threaded adapters, and weldable PE–steel transitions up to Ø 2500 mm whose steel end is welded straight into a steel line.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a PP coated steel flange?

A steel backing flange covered in polypropylene reinforced with 30 % glass fibre. The coating protects the steel from corrosion, which matters when the joint is buried or wet.

Which standard do your flanges follow?

Our steel flanges are certified by TSE to TS EN 1092-1.

How do I connect PE pipe to an existing steel pipe?

Use a weldable PE–steel transition. Join the PE end to your polyethylene line by butt fusion or electrofusion, and weld the steel end to the steel pipe. For small sizes, a threaded PE–steel transition piece is an alternative.

What sizes are available?

Threaded brass and steel adapters from Ø 20 mm (1/2") to Ø 110 mm (4"), steel flanges and weldable transitions from Ø 20 to Ø 2500 mm, and PP coated and blind flanges from Ø 20 to Ø 630 mm.
