ABOUT THIS RANGE

Injection, confection and KIT: what's the difference?

Not every fitting comes out of a single mould, so we make PE 100 fittings in three ways. Injection moulded fittings are produced in one shot, which gives tight dimensions and a smooth finish. Elbows, tees, reducers, caps, cross tees and flange adapters are made this way from Ø 20 mm upwards.

Confection (fabricated) fittings are cut from PE 100 pipe and butt-welded into shape. That is how we reach large diameters up to Ø 2000 mm and angles such as 11°, 30° and 60° that have no standard mould. KIT fittings are assembled from injection moulded parts welded together, so we can supply the sizes and combinations a project needs without making a new mould.

All three types have plain spigot ends in PE 100, SDR 11 or SDR 17, made to TS EN 12201-3 and TS EN 1555-3. They are joined to the pipe by butt fusion, or with electrofusion couplers where a butt welding machine won't fit.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a confection fitting?

A fitting fabricated from segments of PE 100 pipe that are cut and butt-welded together. It is used for large diameters and special angles.

What does KIT injection welded mean?

The fitting is assembled in our plant from injection moulded components welded together. This lets us supply sizes and combinations that have no dedicated mould.

What is the largest fitting you make?

Confection elbows and reduced tees go up to Ø 2000 mm, and long-type flange adapters also reach Ø 2000 mm.

How are these fittings joined to the pipe?

By butt fusion, or with electrofusion couplers when butt welding is not practical. The spigot ends match the pipe's SDR.
