ABOUT THIS RANGE
Tools for preparing and welding PE pipe
Many bad PE joints start before the welding machine is switched on: an oxidised surface that wasn't scraped, an oval pipe end, or a cut that isn't square. The tools in this range deal with those problems on site.
The manual extruder welds PE and PP pipes and sheets by laying a bead of molten plastic along the joint, with an output of 1.8 to 2.1 kg per hour from Ø 3–4 mm rod. We also supply the PE 100 welding rod (Ø 4 mm) for it.
The TURAN AMG pipe cutting machine is a portable electric saw for PE and PP pipe up to Ø 2200 mm and walls up to PN 32. RASPA scraper tools remove the oxidised outer layer before electrofusion welding (Ø 75–180 mm and Ø 180–400 mm), and the ovality device rounds pipe ends that are out of round.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is extrusion welding used for?
Joining PE or PP pipes and sheets where a butt fusion or electrofusion machine can't be used, for example on fabricated parts. The extruder lays a continuous bead of molten material along a prepared, preheated joint.
Why scrape the pipe before electrofusion?
PE pipe forms a thin oxidised layer on its surface that will not fuse. Scraping it off is essential, and it is the step most often skipped on site.
What size pipe can the cutting machine handle?
PE or PP pipe up to Ø 2200 mm with walls up to PN 32. It runs on three-phase power and needs a 20 kVA generator.
